Meetings and Programs
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at noon to about 2pm, we will get-together once again as members and prospective members. Click on the link for those of you interested in becoming a member. Only members will be able to vote in a binding vote on July 1, on whether our clubhouse -- the Woman's Workshop building -- should continue to be owned by the members as we currently do, or whether we should donate the Workshop to the City of Newton. A straw poll puts the issue with the membership at about 50/50 to either side. Bring a brown bag lunch if it is your usual lunchtime.
Our meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month except August, from12:00pm to about 2:30pm. We often hold additional gatherings at other times for many reasons. The meetings from October through April also include special programs, entertainment, and Club business. Regular announcements will be shared throughout the year on our WhatsApp Online Clubhouse.
Annual Craft Fair
Our Craft Fair is held nearby at the Hyde Center, 90 Lincoln Street, on the second Saturday of every November. This year the Fair will be November 14, 2026 from 9am to 4pm and will include numerous tables of artisans, vendors, and crafters. There will also be free Face Painting for the kids. Our pop-up Cafe will be serving coffee and baked goods.
Breakfast with Santa
We hold our Breakfast with Santa events on the first Saturday of every December. This year, that's Saturday, December 5, 2026. Bring your young children or grandchildren, your nieces and nephews, or any random child walking by . . . Our annual Breakfast with Santa is held here at the Woman's Club Workshop at 72 Columbus Street, Newton Highlands from 9am to noon.
Bright Ideas
Some ideas for other activities we're thinking of trying out include
* adding Wi-Fi to the building, and a large-screen TV for event-viewing
* a bring your own beer and wine night for members and a guest
* hikes and walks through area parks, cemeteries, and nature preserves
* organized guided tours through area museums
* book and and movie groups
* gardening and plant exchanges
* various exercise groups
* karaoke group singing
* focused discussion groups for various topics
* game days
* foreign language days
* discounted rates for community meetings such as a men's social group
If you would like to suggest an idea, especially one that you could lead, share it with the Online Clubhouse, or at one of our gatherings!
